David worked for the UK Government from 2005 to 2018 in the field of identity assurance.
Formerly a management consultant in the financial sector, he joined the UK Home Office’s Identity Card Programme in 20015 and supported James Crosby’s Public / Private Forum on Identity Management during 2007 and 2008. Moving to Cabinet Office in 2007 he devised the model for federated digital identity for Directgov which was implemented through the GOV.UK Verify service at the Government Digital Service (GDS). Latterly at GDS David was responsible for market engagement which he has conducted as a Board member of the UK Chapter of the Open Identity Exchange, initiating projects such as the Pensions Dashboard, Opening of an overseas bank account and development of the Mobile Network Operators KYC service.
David now works at Idemia leading the development of a collaborative, mutually owned, private sector digital identity and attribute exchange service.
