Kevin Cunnington is a senior executive with a strong track record of enabling organisations to address the challenges and exploit the opportunities afforded by the digital technology revolution.
Following a BSc in Computer Science and an MSc specialising in Artificial Intelligence. Kevin spent the early years of his career in PricewaterhouseCoopers where he focused on the development of knowledge based systems within the Financial and Business sectors and pioneered agile methodology within PWC. Subsequently, he spent a number of years at Goldman Sachs, leading a variety of large scale, international, digital transformation programmes.
Before joining Government, Kevin worked in the telecommunications sector with T-Mobile, and most recently as the global head of Online at Vodafone, covering the development and acceleration of all of Vodafone Group’s online activities across the 20 national operating companies.
From October 2013 to August 2016, Kevin was Director General of Business Transformation at DWP. At DWP, Kevin had responsibility for designing and delivering a user-centred, diverse, and efficient department and enabling a step-change in DWP’s culture to get there. Key to this was the adoption of new ways of working through agile development using multi-disciplinary teams and the creation of DWP’s Transformation Hubs, as well as building and strengthening the internal capability through the award-winning Digital Academies.
From August 2016, Kevin has been the first Director General of GDS.
