Rob Kotlarz is co-founder & President of Digital Identity Net U.K. (DIN), the first digital identity platform funded by private investors in the U.K, that uses bank data to offer citizens an easier way to prove their Identity online, supporting the bank mobile apps they have today.
Rob is a serial tech entrepreneur starting his career at BT, where he helped establish the UKs first digital directory service YELL, then working in digital marketing, cyber consultancy, and securing SWIFT payments in the Cloud; the last business Sterci he launched in the U.K. and USA and helped sell to Bottomline Technologies on NASDAQ.
He has studied extensively the digital identity collaborations between Governments and the private sector in the Nordics, working with the leading player marketing bankID. He then built funded and recruited the Digital ID team for DIN, raising an initial couple of millions from high profile angel technology investors to develop a user-friendly ID platform.
Rob believes there is now a national imperative for the private sector and Government to work together, to solve for digital identity. He has been a vocal speaker on the need to rebuild the U.K. economy with citizen friendly digital identity infrastructure, that will assist the U.K. economy in its recovery from the current pandemic, and will outline the value that Open Banking can play in fast tracking the U.K. in this space.
